In Buyende District, located in eastern Uganda, a troubling case has emerged, resulting in the arrest of a 23-year-old man, Mugeere Wycliff, on charges of defiling a 17-year-old juvenile.
Additionally, the LC1 Chairman, Mutaka Moses, has been apprehended for compounding a felony.
Following an incident captured in a viral social media clip depicting the victim and the suspects partaking in a traditional marriage ceremony, authorities took swift action.
The individuals involved were identified as Mugeere Wycliff, a resident of Namalogwe, Nkoone Parish Irundu Sub-county, and Mutaka Moses, the father of the juvenile. Mutaka also serves as the LC I Chairman of Bukyaala Village, Nkoone Parish, within the same sub-county in Buyende District.

The unfolding events shed light on a distressing situation that transpired on March 2nd, 2025, where Mutaka reportedly facilitated a traditional marriage ceremony between Mugeere and his underage daughter at their residence.
Shockingly, the pair has been cohabiting as husband and wife since the ceremony took place.
