Police with other security forces were on Monday still on man look for a suspected gangsters who shot and injured a home guard during a failed robbery in Kisoro district.
Gunmen stormed the home of Charles Serutozi a business man in Nango cell in Bunagana town in Kisoro withdrew and fled the scene after family members alarmed that attracted several villagers forcing the unknown goons to flee.
According to Ely Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson told our media that the gangsters had shoot and injured John Ndagije a casual worker as well as a night watch man before putting Serutozi at gunpoint in demand for money.
However this incident was failed by family members who made an alarm which attracted many people forcing the robbers to flee the scene while the injured guard was rushed to Mutolere hospital for the treatment.
However a joint patrol team of police and army responded though they found the robbers had fled the scene.
They have however managed to recover exhibits of bullet cartridge from the scene and the suspects were still at large as inquiries commenced.
The incident was later reported to police as an attempted murder on file number Kisoro CRB 213/2023.
