Following a statement that was issued by police spokesperson Fred Enanga said they summoned the minister but she had not turned up by press time.
However the police are still waiting for the Karamoja affairs state minister Agnes Nandutu to appear before them at the directorate of criminal investigation offices in Kibuli, Kampala for two more inquiries into the alleged diversion of iron sheets that had been meant for the region.
So far Mary Gorretti Kitutu and Amos Lugoloobi have since been arraigned before court and been remanded to prison over the same fate much as Kitutu has been granted bail.
While addressing media yesterday Fred Enanga cautioned the media against speculative reporting while covering the iron sheets scandal.
According to him, some of the reporting is sensational and continues to promote panic in the public and some of the witnesses.
“ We want to caution you against irresponsible reporting. let’s remain objective and transparent in the way that we do the investigative reporting and coverage of the iron sheets investigation,” he added.
Enanga was on Monday addressing media during a security briefing at police headquarters in Naguru, Kampala.
