A man identified as Morris Ojok a resident of Acut central in Oyam district allegedly committed the crime this week on Monday at around 7:30pm.
However it’s noted that the alleged returned home tipsy from a trading centre and sexually abused the minor when he reportedly found her alone at home.
At the time of the reported incident, the victim’s mother Mrs. Awor Brenda is said to have gone out to a nearby shop to get cooking oil.
However the Acut Central parish intelligent security officer Justine Okello said that Ojok reportedly fled home that fateful evening.
Okello said the locals found and arrested the suspect and handed him over to police.
According to the residents they claim this man is a habitual offender and drug addict. He was later detained at Oyam central police station after being charged with aggravated defilement under SD 09/02/05/2023.
Defilement is aggravated if the adult performs sexual intercourse with a child aged younger than 14 years.
