General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has finally deleted a tweet announcing his intention to stand for presidency come 2026.
Following his notorious tweets which even loosened diplomatic spats with Kenya and later sacked as the commander of land forces last year.
However his latest tweet posted on Wednesday made him to get more than 700000 followers were he vowed to take on his 78 old father who had ruled Uganda since 1986.
“You have wanted me to say it forever! Okay in the name of Jesus Christ my God,the name of all the young people of Uganda and the world and in the name of our great revolution,I will stand for the presidency in 2026.”
The 48 year old General has for long been trained in prestigious military academy around the word.
Following a tweet posted on 3 March said :
…”my great father told me the whole world in 1980 that he would go to the bush if the elections were rigged . We believing the same things….”
However his tweets about invading Kenya were never deleted from his twitter account it’s not clear yet whether the president will stand again come 2026 having won by 51% paving way for his sixth term as president.
Some analysts say Gen Muhoozi may have intentions to take over his fathers rival Kyagulayi Robert through wooing the youth vote.
