In a heartbreaking turn of events at Moonlight Fuel Station in Bamunanika Cell, Mityana Municipal, Mityana District, three suspects have been apprehended by the vigilant police force following a devastating theft and murder.

The fateful incident unfolded on the night of March 24, 2025, as the assailants launched a vicious attack on the fuel station, resulting in the tragic loss of the security guard and the theft of a significant amount of cash.

The late Kizito Otim, aged 28, hailing from Bamunanika in Mityana Municipality, bravely stood his ground as the security guard at the fuel station, embodying dedication and commitment in his role.

Community Members Detained with Canine Aid

Among those taken into custody are Godfrey Kitandwe, Rose Naluwemba, and an individual known as Nakanjako, all residents of Bamunanika, apprehended with the invaluable assistance of a police dog, showcasing the effectiveness of modern policing methods.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate that the security guard had commenced his shift at 5 pm on Monday, only to fall victim to a fatal attack later in the night, while his colleague, the pump attendant, remained unaware of the unfolding tragedy as he slept.

The shocking discovery of the security guard’s lifeless body in a pool of blood at 5 am, in addition to a missing motorcycle bearing registration UBD 465P Bajaj Boxer, prompted swift action from the authorities.
